AMA with Arkverse
On the 29th of January, 2022 at 13:00 UTC, Decentralized Club had the honor of hosting JC (Head of Business Development) and JO (Head of Marketing) from Arkverse ️for an Ask-Me-Anything session on their Telegram page with a community of over 70,000 people. It was hosted by DC Admin, Alvis.
The session was divided into three segments. Introductions were made in Segment 1, questions from the Twitter community were answered in Segment 2 and live questions from the community members in attendance were answered in Segment 3.

Could you quickly tell us more about yourselves and your jobs at Arkverse?

Sure, I'll go first
Hi everyone - my name is JC and I am the head of business development for Arkverse. I manage the overall metaverse project and day-to-day operations. Previously I worked on multiple crypto projects including P2E gaming platforms as well as NFTs. I am an avid gamer and a pet lover myself and I love spending my free time exploring various virtual reality projects.

I’m JO and I am responsible for marketing at Arkverse. I have raised five different species of animals since I was a child and I have invested in some crypto projects whose names are related to dogs. I was a great Starcraft Player and I play PC or video games every day. My work experience in crypto is marketing P2E and entertainment projects

First of all, can you tell us about Arkverse and the inspiration that got it started?

Sure
Arkverse is a blockchain-based metaverse ecosystem created by animal lovers, for animal lovers. We are creating an immersive open-world platform centered on animals where users can earn real income through our unique P2E model, and collaborate with other members of the community.
The Arkverse core team is comprised of animal lovers and has always been thinking of different ways to enhance awareness with regard to animals and the environment. After observing the rapid growth of the metaverse industry, we thought it would be an effective way to build a cross-border community with shared values, and encourage members to make an impact to address animal-related issues in the real world. Limited information about the core members, advisors, and partners can be found on our official website, and more details about the team will be disclosed as we move forward with the milestone and host various events. We plan to partner up with local animal-related organizations to build a strong community across the globe.

What innovative solution is Arkverse bringing to topple its competitors with similar offerings in the NFT sector?

Arkverse is more than just a play-to-earn metaverse project. The project aims to create a close-knit community of animal lovers that will make a real global impact using the extensive network of real-world animal rights charity mandates. As you can see on our official website, we have multiple institutional strategic partners, not just financial investment partners, to realize the mission and the vision we have outlined on our website. We cannot disclose the full details at this moment, but we are also in discussion with many more potential partners including global non-profit organizations, and venture capitals.
Arkverse’s competitive advantage is creating an ecosystem where animal lovers can be part of the platform which will make a positive impact on the ‘real world’. We are creating something that’s not just a blockchain project but something that will connect the virtual world with the real world to make an actual impact on animals.

How can users get Arkverse NFTs?

We have recently launched our 1st NFT series, which is the 2D Tiger NFT. These are 2,022 majestic Tiger NFTs being made available on 8 Feb 2022.
They can be minted on our official website: https://www.arkverse.games/. Our project is being built on the Solana blockchain so you will need a compatible wallet.
We recommend Phantom or Solfare as they are the most user-friendly. Our public sale is being priced at 1.5 SOL and there is a 20% discounted sale available for a special whitelist. Once you transfer the required SOL to your wallet, you can simply click “Connect Wallet” and then the “Mint” button will be made available. After that, we will have our 3D NFT launching soon after, which will be used as in-game avatars in Arkverse!

Can you tell us about your native token and its utilities?
[JO]
Our ecosystem consists of two tokens: NFTs and fungible tokens.
There are two ways Arkverse aims to provide real-life benefits to NFT holders:
Staking: Before the launch of the Arkverse game, holders can choose to stake their NFTs on our website. Staking will generate a soon-to-be-launched $ARK governance token. The number of tokens earned will be impacted by the rarity of the NFT. The exact amount earned will be announced before the IDO of $ARK.
Lending: Upon launch of the Arkverse game, if an NFT holder does not actively play the game, he/she can lend the NFT on a marketplace to be borrowed by other players who are not NFT owners. These players will have their own playing account/profile (separate from the NFT owner’s profile) and any income they earn in the game will be split with the NFT owner.
For Fungible tokens, we have a multi-currency structure with $ARK and $Haven Coin (HC).
$ARK will be the governance token for Arkverse Treasury and DAO, and $HC will be the in-game currency to be used for various transactions within the metaverse. $HC can be purchased in-game by connecting your wallet and exchanging $ARK tokens. The exact exchange rate will be determined before the launch of the game.

That's great! What is your relationship with the AMF?
[JC]
Arkverse's global mission is to dedicate a significant portion of its ecosystem to make a real-world impact for the animals through the Animal Monetary Foundation ("AMF"). A portion of the revenue generated from the contents produced in Arkverse will benefit animals in the real world through AMF to achieve public interest. The AMF team is comprised of people who are experienced with animal-related welfare and well connected with the animal-related foundations. The Arkverse team is working closely with AMF to start the first project for animal welfare and the detail will be provided in a month.
So in other words, have fun in Arkverse, and you save animals in the real world!

Last but not least, please give us a summary of your 2021 highlights and what major news should we look forward to from Arkverse in 2022?
[JO]
The Arkverse team began its journey in late 2021 in December, so we are a relatively new project. We were able to kickstart our project concept planning as well as establish our core team setup. We are very proud to announce that we have obtained pre-seed funding from renowned institutional investors in Korea which have enabled us to strengthen our balance sheet and launch a full-scale blockchain and game development.
Arkverse team aims to achieve the key steps listed in the roadmap shown on our official website. We have already prepared the Arkverse game paper, which has been uploaded to the official website, and are concurrently developing a metaverse gallery, the beta version of the Arkverse, and the tokens to be utilized within the ecosystem. The core team, advisors, and partners are working full steam ahead to deliver up to the alpha release (even up to open beta depending on the actual progress) of the Arkverse within 2022. Beyond meeting the milestones in the roadmap, the biggest goal we want to achieve is to create a tight-knit community sharing the mission and the vision of the Arkverse.

Arkverse created Animal Monetary Foundation(“AMF”) and staffed a team that is experienced with NGO and animal-related welfare. We think that having AMF will help us to efficiently allocate resources to address animal-related global and local issues. AMF will start making partnerships with local animal-related charities.

Sure, our NFTs will have 5 rarities, from Common to Legendary. There will be varying in-game and real-life advantages. We will be offering staking to all NFT holders to earn our $ARK token. Common will have the lowest APR, and Legendary the highest.

I read that the Arkverse had a mission created by animal lovers, for animal lovers. As Animal Lovers, what benefits will I get if I join your project? And also what role do you play in animal conservation in the real world?

All content in Arkverse is centered on animals, for users to become familiar with and learn about animals. Arkverse loves all animals but has a stronger focus on education and preservation of endangered species.
You can create and edit custom content using the Ark Editor. Ark Editor will provide tools for users to create, customize and share playable content within Arkverse. Creating unique assets using Ark Editor: if you are a creative and skilled designer, you can create your own unique custom skins for Arkians and Ark and sell them to other players. You will have sole ownership of the finished version as an NFT for your original content. Through user-generated content, Arkverse will become more diverse and fruitful. You will be rewarded for your efforts and creativeness in Arkverse and our platform allows numerous ways for users to earn our in-game currency.
As per animal conservation, We are exploring a partnership with AMF to contribute to animal conservation in direct and indirect ways. For example, we made a partnership with Amob. Amob makes furniture for animals using eco-friendly materials in Korea and Amob allocates its profit towards animal conservation. We seek a partnership that can make a sustainable impact so if you have any good ideas, feel free to share them with you.

plans to become a platform similar to or better than Axie? In what ways do they plan to outperform their competition?

Sure. We all love Axie but our goal is to be better!
There are a variety of P2E models newly coming to markets that benchmark Axie because of Axie’s success. I think Axie nicely lays out an important aspect of a successful P2E model with Guilds. What Arkverse is trying to do is further develop the P2E model with Guilds into a variety of guilds with different skill sets.
Since Arkverse welcomes individuals with talents in different categories such as game, art, education, and animal, we want to form a group of people with similar talents.
For example, People who are good with art can get together and initiate art projects related to animals. Everyone loves content related to animals so we can partner up with other projects to make animal-related memes using their project concept. Arkverse will foster an Arkverse guild that can support other projects in many categories and that is our main comparative advantage.

How will the proceeds from the revenue be used to help improve the lives of animals?
[JC]
This is the most important question for us. We have two revenue streams, 1) capital raising and 2) sustainability. Capital raise comes from the sale of NFTs as well as the upcoming IDO of our governance token, $ARK. Sustainable revenue comes from ongoing in-game transactions, royalties on the NFT trading, as well as advertisement revenue from sponsors/partners.
We will be dedicating at least 5% of the total capital raised to go straight to the AMF, which will then select from its wide network of animal nonprofits and charity mandates globally. Our network includes Animal Welfare Institute and World Wildlife Fund.
From the sustainable revenue, we will periodically (likely to be every quarter) allocate 10% of ongoing revenue to the AMF, which will be replenished once used up.
The community is what drives the movement, and our charity mandates will be chosen based on our DAO, and as a participant, you can help direct the funds to the charity that matters the most to YOU

Maybe this is a simple question but why exactly did you choose the name "Arkverse"? Can you explain to us the origin of this name?👍

The name Arkverse was derived from the biblical tale of “Noah’s Ark”. Arkverse aims to be the Ark for animals in the metaverse as well as in real life.
Within the Arkverse, users will be navigating different islands using the Arks. Users can customize and upgrade their Arks as they progress through their journey. Each Ark has the following functions:
1) Voyage - Ark has a base travel speed and fuel tank capacity which can be upgraded to enhance the efficiency of the journey.
2) Battle - each Ark carries defensive capabilities in case you encounter Kras that dwell in the sea.
3) Base Camp - Upon landing on an island, Ark serves as a base camp where Arkians can heal and rest, as well as inventory for storing surplus items and resources.
4) Animal Rescue - Ark has a base capacity of storing 5 animals which can subsequently be expanded to house more animal companions.

Tiger NFT will serve as a precursor to our 3D NFT, which will be the in-game avatars for the Arkverse game. What is the Tiger NFT and the 3D NFT? What is the relationship between both NFTs? Do you plan to introduce more NFT to the platform?👍

2D Tiger NFT is our very first NFT which is an introduction before the launch of the 3D avatar NFTs. This will be 2,022 2D majestic tigers, which represents the year of the tiger in Asia. Holders of the 2D NFTs will have significant benefits which includes 1) guaranteed spot for minting our 3D NFT, and 2) increased staking yields once our staking program launches
