AMA with Digination

On the 21st of October, 2021 at 14:00 UTC, Decentralized Club had the honor of hosting John (Business Development Manager) and Kane (Chief Talking Officer) from DigiNation for an Ask-Me-Anything session on their Telegram page with a community of over 60,000 people. It was hosted by DC Admin, May.

The session was divided into four segments. Introductions were made in Segment 1, questions from the Twitter and website community were answered in Segment 2 and 3 respectively, and live questions from the community members in attendance were answered in Segment 4.

If you missed this event and would like to know what DigiNation is all about, you can find a recap of the interview here. Note that slight edits have been made for clarity, and links in this recap lead to images, documents, or other media.

Segment 1 - Introduction

[May]

Hello, 大家好, नमस्ते, Selamat!

My name is May and I'll be hosting the AMA with DigiNation.

Today, we have with us two guests from the DigiNation Team.

[John]

Hi everyone! Nice to meet you all

[Kane]

Hi all! nice to meet you all here

[May]

You're welcome to the Decentralized Club and it's an honor to have you both here.

How's your day going?

[John]

It's been great. Thanks for asking.

[Kane]

Very good. Warm day with a hot market :) I hope everyone benefited from that as well.

[May]

We're taking profits over here :)

Could you quickly tell us more about yourselves and your job descriptions at DigiNation?

[Kane]

Thanks. I am one of the founders and I am in charge of marketing and publication of our game. So internally I am the one who talked most, they call me Chief Talking Officer.

[May]

Haha! Nice

[Kane]

John is in charge of our Business Development and thanks to John for introducing wonderful groups like Decentralised Club.

In general, we are a 20-person team, most of us were from traditional gaming-related industries. Most in Asia.

That's a quick summary of us and the Digination team here.

[May]

You're welcome again.

Let's get right into the session.

Q1. What is DigiNation about and what idea was it created out of?

[John]

https://t.me/decentralized_club/630370

[John]

DigiNation is a Web3 Metaverse featuring NFT-based innovation. Our team has been working on building metaverse projects since 2017. The engine used in Digination took even longer, rooted back in our earlier Unity virtual world projects.

DigiNation is inspired by the macro concept of "blockchain identity", one of the core ideas of Web3. We hope to make a difference here by relating everything in Digination to a Web3 profile, and most via NFTs.

[May]

DC loves the Metaverse :)

[John]

I can also sense the enthusiasm! :)

[May]

:)))

Q2. What innovative solution is DigiNation bringing to topple its competitors with similar offerings in the Metaverse and NFT market?

[John]

Well, 1. DigiNation is a metaverse (aka virtual world) project. Players can create and customize their Avatar, and socialize in the game - as if it's GTA, or Roblox, or 2nd Life.

2. Technologically, each player will be an NFT. We have a design that allows NFT to have variables, so that represents the change and growth, assets of a player are stored in the NFT. So NFT is Identity in Digination.

3. We also seek to collaborate with all other NFTs projects - that's the purpose of our mini-twitter campaign now - we bring other NFTs, like cryptopunks, to live-action and socialize with other players in Digination.

We have still more in store for you so stay tuned!

[May]

Awesome!

Q3. Could you talk about these features: DiGiMarket, DiGiPlayer, DiGiWizard, and DiGiMaker?

[John]

Sure! 😊

https://t.me/decentralized_club/630386

DiGiMaker is a Game Creation Kit. It lets you create professional game scenes and levels by the drag and drop method. Players can then explore those games through their Avatar. DigiPlayer lets you create and customize an Avatar.

https://t.me/decentralized_club/630387

DiGiWizard is a connector between Real World and DigiNation. Players can import art assets to create his/her own digital assets such as buildings, furniture, costumes, etc. in DigiNation. Players can also create customized asset outfits with the photo NFT he/she owns, and use the unique item in the game. DiGiMarket is where players can upload, publish and trade the NFT they created in the virtual world.

So these are some features of DigiNation :)

[May]

Impressive features! Great job!

Q4. Could you briefly talk about the assets on DigiNation and their utilities?

[John]

1) Use NFT as your identity in the metaverse

2) This NFT is dynamic, it improves with your actions in the metaverse

3) We focus on delivering the product - beta is ready now and you will see the official game by mid-Nov.

4) Most of NFT today claim perceived value, e.g. the art and collectible value of them. We try to make a change.

In DigiNation, our NFTs can grow - as they have variable parameters. E.g. the more active you are in the metaverse, the more advanced your NFT will be, and its appearance will change as well (like leveling up). So the value of the NFT is tied to the activities and contribution of one player in the metaverse.

[May]

Wow. That's a really great incentive.

[John]

We really work our best so both parties will benefit. :))

[May]

It's evident :)

Q5. How are elements created on DigiNation?

[John]

https://t.me/decentralized_club/630401

[John]

A crucial part of DigiNation is to work with other NFT projects. DigiNation will be inviting notable NFT projects to join this metaverse. DigiNation does not seek to be an NFT manufacturer, but a platform enabling other NFTs to come to live in the metaverse. The NFT Live program aims to empower other NFT projects to join the DigiNation metaverse:

- Our game engine will create the 3D version of third-part NFTs, so they can join the metaverse, and interact with DigiAvatars and other characters in the metaverse.

DigiNation supports the creation and minting of indigenous NFTs via the tool DigiMaker. DigiMaker is a studio for players to:

- Create 3D models to fit into the metaverse directly;

- Create professional game scenes and levels by drag-and-drop;

-Utilize various messaging, logic, and payment plugins;

- Implement an even more sophisticated game mechanism with Lua script.

This tool enables you to build original and playable multiplayer games in the DigiNation metaverse, and all the elements and final products are stored in the form of ERC721 NFT tokens.

So that's how we create elements here.

[May]

Great work!

Could you please share your Discord Link?

[John]

Sure thing

[Kane]

It's been prepared and we will announce it a few days later

[May]

Q6. What major news should we still look forward to from DigiNation by the end of the year?

[John]

That's a great question

Here's the recent development and our timetable for the rest of Oct and for Nov:

1) Last week of Oct: Launch of NFTLive (NFTLive.digination.io, aka DigiWizard) - the 3D model visualization platform, where users with NFTs in their wallets could see the 3D versions of their NFTs. We will start with 10,000 cryptopunks on 25 Oct and then add other projects gradually, such as Pudgy Penguins, etc.

2) Mid Nov: Launch of DigiAvatar (digiavatar.digination.io) - the Avatar NFT public mint event. DigiAvatar will be login to NFT to Digination metaverse, and stores Avatar info in the NFT's metadata. It's probably the first NFT with variable metadata (and therefore in the game, a variable Avatar).

3) End Nov: Launch of the DigiNation game, with the first campaign being CryptoSurvivor, a Squid Game-like contest, by invitation only and targeting cryptopunk holders. We will be broadcasting this like an esports event.

4) During Oct and Nov, we have launched social media and will be regularly promoting them to expand our community base.

So don't forget to follow us at @Digi_metaverse to be updated on the latest news :))

[May]

Super!

Dear community, make sure you follow on Twitter!

Let's now take questions from our Twitter community.

Segment 2 - Twitter Questions

[May]

Q1. What is the ultimate goal of your DigiNation project in the NFT marketplace? Obviously, the entire space will develop dramatically in the future years, but what role do you want Your initiative to play in that?

Twitter Username: @Kokila93603877

[Kane]

Oh let me get this one

Visualization of existing and new NFT projects is key to what we do now. That is a starting point.

That's probably the best way to start in this crowded NFT space - 20 over projects are launched daily. We are helping them and working with them to make their NFTs better. In the long run, we seek to create utility for all NFTs and become a platform for supporting the presentation, gamification, and trading of all NFTs.

So we strive to be a platform serving the entire NFT industry.

[May]

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

[Kane]

That's my quick answer to the question.

[May]

Great goal!

Q2. As a new player in the NFT Marketplace industry, what is DigiNation's competitive advantage in maintaining a strong community and attracting new retail investors? What are your advantages and disadvantages compared to other NFT Marketplaces such as Tresureland, Twinci, Rarible?

Twitter Username: @KiyokoSumaru

[Kane]

Thanks. Good one and tough one.

We position ourselves as a metaverse, and trading of the NFTs is a by-product. We actually do not see Digination as a competitor of other marketplaces.

We aim to provide a space where players could use their NFTs for certain interactive features, or at least see them come to life. That's probably the biggest difference we have, compared to other marketplaces of NFTs.

The utility comes first, then followed by the need for trading. In other words, we will empower NFTs first.

Hope this clarifies our positioning.

A good question indeed.

[May]

Yes!

Q3. What kind of partnerships with different projects/platforms/protocols can we expect from #DigiNation in the future? Could you give us some examples of how other projects can leverage #DigiNation?

Twitter Username: @PKragak

[Kane]

As John highlighted above, we work with other NFT projects and we support artists and studios to make NFTs directly in-game.

We can literally work with all NFT projects, who are interested in displaying their NFTs in a 3D metaverse. Now are working with the community of Cryptopunks and Pudgy Penguins, and a few other smaller ones.

More is possible, as smart contracts are composable by nature. But we focus on what we got on handwork with leading NFT projects first, bringing them into DigiNation.

We have some youtube videos and hope that might clarify - check out our Youtube channel. :)

[May]

Please share the link :)

Here you go!

[May]

Thank you!

Let's now take questions from our website community.

Segment 3 - Website Questions

[May]

Website Questions

Q1. They say that players will be able to create their own personalized outfits with the motive that we want and I was wondering if we can only create and use them, or if we can sell our outfit in the market?

Telegram Username: @Arisabela

[Kane]

Ok

Yes, you can create something with our DigiMaker and store the created costume into an NFT. Thereafter, you are free to use it in the metaverse or sell the NFT to some else. The buyer will own the NFT and therefore the costume in the metaverse.

We will make it straightforward and user-friendly. No coding is required. Friendly for artists or fashion designers!

😃

[May]

Nice 😃

Q2. DigiNation, in a virtual world created by users but only specifies that it is a PC game to attract traditional players. I would like to know if you plan to integrate your project in the App Store of cell phones in the not too distant future? Or will it only be through PCs?

Telegram Username: @AgenciaATM

[Kane]

The Mobile version will be developed next year, subject to web3 developments on the mobile application. Web3 login on mobile is not mature yet, so we are also closely watching out mobile web3 developments.

So we hope more mobile browsers support web3 and then we can make use of NFTs in the mobiles as well. Or more wallet apps that have browsers support Unity Web.

We will closely monitor the development in the industry.

That's my quick reply to this technical question :)

[May]

We hope so too

Short and simple :)

Q3. Why does your project not have a Telegram group like the rest of the crypto projects? How can we be updated on your project’s development and announcement? Can you provide us with your other social media link other than Telegram?

Telegram Username: @Jmagsss

[Kane]

We are setting up Twitter and Discord this week. We also have Medium and youtube. Do follow us on all of the social media! And from now till the end of Nov, there will be prizes every day!

Wish everyone here good luck😊

[May]

Thank you!

It's now time to take questions from our live audience.

In this 4th segment, I will open the group for some seconds for the live community to shoot you some pressing questions.

Kindly prioritize the questions with the 🤟 emoji

[Kane]

Ok cool - a lot of questions, thanks all here. Give me some time to read through.

[May]

Sure! Take your time :)

[Kaptin Black]

Hey there Mr. John,

🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟

You said "Digination NFTs can grow (makes me think of the movie FREE GUY😅😅😅) - as they have variable parameters... So the value of the NFT is tied to the activities and contribution of one player in the metaverse"

Does this mean one has to be always active on your Digination to utilize it to its full potential???

[Kane]

This is a good one. This is actually what some of us were thinking when designing the game. Most NFTs are static. Our NFTs in Digination are EVOLVING. It grows as the player grows. As a player plays more and achieves milestones and builds wealth and social network in the metaverse, its AVATAR NFT grows as well. It's not the time one spends in the game - it's more complex. It's about achievements.

[May Gusta]

Three more questions to go 🎉

[Kiriux]

I saw in their roadmap that the first auction in the lands will be on December 12 of this year and I would like you to not explain how we can buy them, how much the estimated price will be, and if they will have a system that prevents a single user from taking over of most of the lands to sell? Will they have a way to avoid bots in the sale? 👋

[Kane]

Ok, let me explain a bit more about this. In Digination there are two types of NFTs - third-party ones like cryptopunks or Pudgy Penguins. They are good but they are not everything. So we create or have players create more NFTs in the game. Some are basic elements, like land or avatars. For now, we are launching the sale of AVATAR NFTs in Nov. These are the dynamic and evolving NFTs we have been talking about. Land and others might be later. So hope this clarifies. DO follow our Twitter for details and updates.

[May]

Two more questions to go 🎉

[alberys rodriguez]

🤟🤟 In your Digi Nation project, it struck me that players can upload publish and exchange the NFT they created in the virtual world. But your project does not contain a native token? What is the token that players must manage on your platform?🤟🤟🤟🤟

[Kane]

Despite that we can operate a marketplace only like Opensea without a token, we think we are slightly more than that. As a metaverse, we hope players use NFTs for interactions, such as games, commerce, social, or advertisements, etc. So we will have a native ERC20 token to facilitate the economy. And might be play-to-earn as well. Again - stay tuned :)

[May]

One more question to go 🎉

[Vicky Jones]

Reading your website I noticed that you do not explain how to enter your virtual reality-based game. What is the NFT I should get and where should I enter to access to play to win in Digi Nation? Could you give me a brief explanation of how to enter your game? Thank you.🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟

[Kane]

Ok - More details to follow in these few days. To enter the metaverse Digination, everyone needs an NFT called DigiAvatar. This is a passport, and this is also the avatar in the game (each player is different, being an NFT), and more importantly, this is also the memory of the players, as this NFT stores data of a player in the metaverse. You can log in and view yourself and other NFTs like cryptopunks in the browser, log in to your metamask wallet; and you need to download the PC game DigiPlayer to play it, after login with metamask and have your DigiAvatar verified.

[May]

Aaaaaaand it's a wrap 🎉
