Segment 1 - Introduction
[May]
Hello, Hola, 大家好, नमस्ते, Selamat!
My name is May and I'll be hosting the AMA with DoinGud.
Today, we have with us two exceptional guests from the DoinGud Team.
You're welcome and it's an honor to have you here.
[Manu Alzuru]
thank you so much for hosting us
[May]
It's our pleasure!
Could you quickly tell us more about yourselves and your job descriptions at DoinGud?
[Manu Alzuru]
for sure
[Igor]
I’ve been doing software development for more than 15 years. I have a background in software engineering, economics, graphic design, branding, digital art, and interactive design. I got into the crypto space in 2015, building a p2p platform to trade BTC. In 2017 I got all into Ethereum space and started exploring and building different ideas and projects for myself. I was building the first prototype of DAO on top of Colony protocol back in 2017. I started experimenting with NFTs in 2018 building a project during a hackathon led by Dapper Labs. This year I joined DoinGud as a co-founder and I’m guiding the product design team and leading the tech team on the smart contracts part and working on our tokenomics.
[Manu Alzuru]
Hi everyone, I’m Manu, founder of DoinGud and a mechanical engineer, serial entrepreneur, humanist, solarpunk, nomad, and DAO/governance/NFT enthusiast.
I have been a member of multiple DAOs like the metacartel, inverse finance, MetaGame, and api3.
I'm currently working on the product, communications and also thinking a lot about the mechanics behind our ecosystem together with Igor.
[May]
Awesome!
Your bios are really great!
Can't wait to peel DoinGud like an onion in this session. 😁
Community members, please join the DoinGud TG.

Mr. Alzuru and Mr. Line, shall we now take some project introductory questions?
@ManuAlzuru @igorline
[Manu Alzuru]
let's goooo
[May]
Okay!
Q1. Can you tell us the goals that birthed the idea of DoinGud?
[Manu Alzuru]
The main goals that DoinGud has are the following:
🔹Enabling creators (who are usually the most altruistic humans) to tokenize their creations and allocate a percentage of their choice that could be streamed to social causes that they care about.
🔹Enabling curators or dot connectors to work together with creators and create narratives around their creations while supporting social good.
[May]
It's really the "altruistic NFT marketplace" 😊
[Manu Alzuru]
Well, the way that we see it is that we want to normalize social impact and that it actually becomes a standard.
[May]
Great!
Q2. What does DoinGud plan to achieve with NFTs in the ecosystem?
[Manu Alzuru]
We want to achieve many things like:
🔷Be a community-owned social media and marketplace where does that contribute to humanity have a say on the future of the platform.
🔷Creators should always own their content and their creations in general.
🔷Users of social media and marketplaces should also own their profile and even their social graph.
🔷Collectors should decide where they want their assets to live in (Ethereum, Polygon, xDAI or any other blockchain)
and most important overall as mentioned to normalize social impact. We believe that every transaction should do good for humanity.
[May]
I agree with you!
Q3. What are the roles of creators on DoinGud and how does a person become a creator?
[Manu Alzuru]
Creators are the working class of the internet age but platforms have used creators and extracted all the value that they produce.
Within DoinGud, creators make a statement and a pledge to humanity by allocating a percentage of their creations to social causes that they care about.
Initially, the creators are going to be onboarded manually but once the platform is stable anyone can join and be a creator because we all are.
[May]
Good to know!
Q4. What are DoinGud's plans for the metaverse and what steps have been taken towards adoption?
[Manu Alzuru]
DoinGud plans to also facilitate creators of the metaverse to tokenize their assets and bring them to their worlds. Also, we are supporting Space quite strongly (https://tryspace.app/) and that is going to be one of the most exciting experiments.
[May]
Nice!
Q5. Could you briefly talk about your partnership with Polygon and what it means for DoinGud?
[Manu Alzuru]
yeah for sure
We understand that creators want to be more inclusive and have different price models for their audiences. With the current gas prices on ethereum, many fans and supporters are left out. With Polygon the prices could potentially be a few bucks and still make sense as the transaction costs are very low.
It's important to say that we want to be blockchain agnostic and we don't want to block creators and collectors to one ecosystem but we rather want to let their creations flow around the different blockchains.
[May]
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Q6. What major news should we still look forward to from DoinGud this year?
[Manu Alzuru]
Well, there is a lot of amazing news coming :)
But I would say, definitely the launch of our token and the launch of our DAO.
[May]
Awesome! 😊
[Manu Alzuru]
We really need to innovate and find ways where the type of capital needed is not only financial. Before the existence of financial capital, there was always human and social capital and now it’s time to elevate them again and be a more inclusive ecosystem.
[May]
Yes!
It's now time to take questions from our Twitter community.
Segment 2 - Twitter Questions
[May]
It's now time to take questions from our Twitter community.
Q1. What is the concept of Meta galleries and how does it benefit the brands?
Twitter Username: @cradled_in_
[Manu Alzuru]
In the space, many believe that curators and galleries are the gatekeepers, which is true for the traditional art market.
In the internet era, anyone can curate content and create narratives (even memes) that can elevate the creations and creators.
We believe that creators, curators, and gallery owners could have a healthier relationship by offering them the opportunity to align incentives transparently.
Brands, communities, social causes, or even individuals could potentially become gallery owners and curators by having a space where they can display the content that they like.
[May]
Nice!
Q2. DoinGud's "automatic collaboration payments" app made me curious because I had never heard of the concept before. What are these automatic payments for collaboration? How exactly will they work? How can content creators take advantage of them?
Twitter Username: @jasoncarl086
[Igor]
Creators can submit their collaborators for each creation and determine the percentage that they should receive. Once the assets get sold, the payment will be split between all the collaborators, removing the need for the creator to distribute the royalties themselves. This creates a healthier ecosystem where collaboration is rewarded.
[May]
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Q3. What are the different kinds of currency support in your platform and further how is complete transaction transparency maintained?
Twitter Username: @static_current
[Igor]
On the launch, we are offering USDC for transactions on the platform. USDC is one of the most compliant and commonly used stablecoin. We will also offer the option to buy USDC using a credit card on the platform with the best possible rate through our partner. Later on, we will be integrating other cryptocurrencies.
[May]
That's great news.
It's now time to take questions from our website community.
Segment 3 - Website Questions
Q1. Can you tell us about the Happy Hour and Women in NFT discussion organized by DoinGud? What are their objectives?
Telegram Username: @danWickerjil
[Manu Alzuru]
for sure
We want to be a more inclusive NFT ecosystem and as we all know, the whole crypto space is very male-dominated and it's time for us to elevate women and also persons that identify their sex as non-binary.
[May]
Q2. Before the project DoinGud was born, it was first called “FightPandemics” a group that raised awareness about society’s future emergencies. Why did you rebrand to “DoinGud” and was the goals and mission of FightPandemics still seen within DoinGuds’ motives?
Telegram Username: @Jmagsss
[Manu Alzuru]
oh great question
Actually, FightPandemics is another project that is still alive (fightpandemics.com).
After the Ethereum Community Conference (ETHCC), I got covid and I realized that many communities needed help and I decided to launch an initiative for helping connect those in need of help with those who can provide help.
Over 1800 people from all over the world contributed time and skills to the project and the idea was to create a social DAO where the investment was the human and social contribution, but most people didn't understand it (99% weren't crypto native) and that's why when we decided to bring financial capital to the equation and that's how DoinGud was born.
While we were building FightPandemics, we realized that the majority of people behind nonprofits and social impact organizations were actually artists and creators in general. For us, it was shocking to see that currently there is no connection between the creator economy and the social impact economy when the people behind those have such a big overlap.
[May]
🤔 That's a great observation
Q3. DoinGud is a platform where creators, curators, brands, and organizations can showcase their products. So, this will include small startups to well-settled organizations. Do you rank the NFTs? What will the content creators get other than exposure on your platform?
Telegram Username: @albertjaison
[Manu Alzuru]
We don't want to impose algorithms on people, we actually would love that everyone chooses their own algorithms and that the content in the form of NFT is displayed as people want to.
Obviously, to achieve this vision, there is still a lot to build. Initially, we are definitely going to highlight those that can create more impact and make the world a better place.
We plan to be a community-owned and manage social media/marketplace and for that, we plan to reward tokens creators that contribute to humanity.
[May]
That's great!
[Manu Alzuru]
:)
thank you
[May]
You're welcome :)
It's now time for the most popular part of the AMA! Live Questions!
In this 4th segment, I will open the group for some seconds for the live community to shoot you some pressing questions.
Please pick four original questions to answer.
Try to ignore generic, vague, and copy-paste questions 😊
[Manu Alzuru]
awesome
[May]
Ready? 😊
[Manu Alzuru]
let's goooo
---Chat was then opened for the live community to send in their questions---
Segment 4 - Live Questions
[Manu Alzuru]
Those are a lot of questions but it seems like nobody is going to win as nobody has joined our telegram https://t.me/DoinGudHQ
[May]
Community, please join
Guests, you have a ton of questions to pick from 😊
Please pick four questions.
[Jose Gamboa]
Can I think of galleries as autonomous markets managed by any member of the Doingud community? allow creators to sell their artwork through galleries and/or self-hosted (independent) galleries?
[Manu Alzuru]
You can think of galleries as a publisher or a place for promoting creations.
We want to enable independent tastemakers, communities, social causes, and organizations, in general, to be able to launch their own space and obtain slots in the gallery by staking the $AMOR token.
So you can think of DoinGud as a metagallery or what we call a Gallery of Galleries. There could be galleries focused on curating anime, others on curating creations from artists in Latin America/Africa or anywhere in the world, or even creators that are united for a social cause like fighting for gender inequality.
By having the Gallery mode, you'll be able to also access different sale mechanics and possibly engage better with the community of supporters, backers, and collectors.
DoinGud is starting with images, audio, and video as formats. But we want to definitely expand that, as I mentioned before, we want to enable assets that could potentially live in the metaverse but also written content that could be owned by its creators.
Our platform will be in multiple languages as we really want to be a global community where there is no distinction of language, sex, religion, color, or any other characteristic of humans as long as we are there to do what we love while creating positive impact.
Also, creators will be able to create without having any crypto experience and without any crypto so that it isn't a barrier of entry for anyone around the world.
We at the same time will have fiat payment processors so people can buy them using credit cards.
We are also creating a media arm that is focused on education and entertainment within our industry. You can check out videos from top figures in the space within our Instagram.
What are NFTs: https://www.instagram.com/tv/CQ8utcNCoyg/
What are Royalties: https://www.instagram.com/tv/CRHqxYgCbqO/
And we also have interviews with top leaders in the space like:
- Kevin Owocki, Founder @ Gitcoin: https://www.instagram.com/p/CTAfYRGLq_v/
- Primavera de Fillipis, Lawyer, Professor and artist at MIT: https://www.instagram.com/p/CSM0fsto4zj/
Many ask about the transparency part, as you know the blockchain is transparent when it comes to the tracking of transactions and provenance.
If you guys check multiple drops, we see creators say that they are going to support a social cause and that's amazing but we could do it better. What if we could see that the money is actually going to the causes that we care about and that the money is received and used as intended to be used.
Many of us don't donate because of the lack of transparency that exists. It's time to build better systems that give us the peace of mind that our money is being used for creating a positive impact.
[May]
3️⃣ more questions to go! 🎉
[Femi Oyinloye]
What drives you every day, what goal keeps you going on despite having to face different challenges, what do you want to accomplish in the NFT Ecosystem?
[Manu Alzuru]
the fact that with blockchain technology we could create net positive games where many wins and not zero-sum games where there is a winner and a loser.
I'm Venezuelan and when I lived there all my assets were expropriated by the government, so for me, property rights and freedom of speech are some of the most important fundamentals for what we are building here.
We also don't want to create a place for only 1 type of creators but actually for everyone
[JJ]
Your team strength is very impressive. What were the challenges you had to encounter before you found the perfect team to hone the DoinGud mission? And how can we join your Happy Hour?
[Manu Alzuru]
Thank you so much. We are around 30 human beings from all over the world and we speak multiple languages. We want to make this as inclusive as possible.
Join us on our discord and be part of the community https://discord.com/invite/Dsy8MEmBSE. We have happy hours and also big think tanks. Everyone that joins early could potentially receive many prizes. So jump on board and join us!
[May]
1️⃣ more question to go! 🎉
[Zelafet]
What day do you plan on Publishing the Doin Gud token so we can buy it and I really do not understand what you mean by automated collaboration payments, please can you elucidate on that? Thanks
[Manu Alzuru]
We plan first to launch the platform. Show how much love we have put into it. Enable creators to join us and to start contributing to the community and then we will launch the token. There will be rewards for those that contribute value to the organization.
Then we will launch the token that could be potentially used for the following
