Segment 1 - Introduction

[May]
Hello, สวัสดี, 大家好, नमस्ते, Selamat!

My name is May and I'll be hosting the AMA with Edain.

Today, we have with us a guest from the Edain Team.

[Chris Edwards]
Hello May and hello DC community

[May]
You're welcome to the Decentralized Club and it's an honor to have you here.

[Chris Edwards]
very pleased to be here with you all this afternoon/evening

[May]
How's your day going?

Same here!

[Chris Edwards]
wonderfully

[May]
Good to know!

Could you quickly tell us more about yourself and your job at Edain?

[Chris Edwards]
Sure. My name is Chris Edwards and I am the Project Manager for the Edain Project at Edain Technologies. I've been part of what is now Edain since its inception in 2015.

[May]
That's awesome!

What was it previously called?

[Chris Edwards]
Well, Edain was formed as a joint venture between Prisma Analytics and CryptoDATA Tech. I came from the Prisma side where we developed the C+8 Technology that is the underlying tech for the Edain Knowledge ecosystem.

So Edain was formed through the partnership of our two companies and for this specific purpose of making knowledge available as a utility to anyone desiring it.

[May]
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Looking forward to learning a lot more!

[Chris Edwards]
me too

👍

[May]
Let's take some questions about Edain now, shall we?

[Chris Edwards]
sure

[May]
Can you tell us more about Edain and the inspiration that got it started?

[Chris Edwards]
Of course, a commonly asked question and for good measure...

Edain is the culmination of a lifetime’s work by Dr. Hardy Schloer. As a scientist with a complex system design background and a geopolitical consultant and futurist with a desire to see our societies developed sustainably – Dr. Schloer has long been a proponent of investments in education where we have seen significant reductions here over the past 50 years in most developed countries around the world.

For a few decades, he and many of his colleagues observed the growing knowledge gap across the world and he long ago set his sights on determining strategies to bridge this gap. To provide the short version of this long story, Edain came to be when Dr. Schloer identified that the technical and technological barriers could be overcome to build a scalable system that is now Edain.

So, it is definitely not a whimsical project, nor an idea. There is a life's work involved and the knowledge transfer from a great many people over a long period.

[May]
This is amazing! I didn't know there was so much depth to this project.

[Chris Edwards]
Yeah, indeed

[May]
Beautiful work!

What innovative solution is Edain bringing to topple its competitors with similar offerings in the AI sector?

[Chris Edwards]
Well, we're not interested in toppling anything valuable that anyone before us has done. We simply want to 'walk on the shoulders of the giants before us'. We believe that the development of Edain and the Knowledge Vault will spur an entirely new 'Knowledge Industry' and we genuinely hope to work with anyone and everyone that can help educate humans everywhere.

But Edain does certainly have some differentiating qualities that are wholly unique and that allow for globally scalable knowledge analysis and delivery system per Edain’s design to be developed. Namely, they are: 1) Edain’s core data analytics tech allows data to self-organize (AI), 2) its capability to generalize unstructured data, 3) its ability to eliminate almost all human bias in its analytics process and 4) its capability of measuring knowledge in a way that can be standardizable.

Lastly, the knowledge that is evolving within the Edain knowledge ecosystem is n-dimensional in scope – not siloed like almost every known product that could be construed as competition.

Further, the approach to delivering knowledge through Edain’s “query to the system” through ‘knowledge applications’ is largely novel. As a web-based user approach, the knowledge oracle (the Knowledge Vault) can be made available to anyone with an internet connection.

But to be clear, the objective of Edain is to support the sustainable development of our planet and to usher in peace in ways that we have not witnessed before with our species. It is widely held that if we can determine how to share resources effectively, we will stop fighting over them.

"Knowledge is power"

[May]
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

[Chris Edwards]
...and the power must be with the people

[May]
A minute for the community to digest

[Chris Edwards]
sure

I realize I talk a lot

😗

[May]
It's great! We love the details!

Can you talk about the features that make up Edain?

[Chris Edwards]
Sure, I kinda touched on them in the previous answer, but...

[May]
Please reiterate a bit 🙂

[Chris Edwards]
...to recap here, Edain is designed to offer decision-support to anyone wishing it and of any level of complexity – from; where should I consider a holiday? to; should our country build a dam on the XYZ River? Knowledge is made available on-demand from the Edain system that self organizes data through a complex data model called C+8 Technology. Knowledge is produced at the point a query is submitted to the system through knowledge apps made available as SaaS.

Probably worth noting here is that we, as humans, spend the large majority of our time every day making decisions. It's what we do to get through the course of our lives. Many of the decisions we are confronted with are simple and require no 'new' knowledge, such as "its bedtime - when should I brush my teeth?". But there are also decisions we must make with considerable regularity that are much more complex and difficult. This is where most of us need help determining the best action to take.

[May]
I agree

[Chris Edwards]
a truth most of us don't really recognize

[May]
Guilty as charged 😅

On Edain, how is data from event causality obtained?

[Chris Edwards]
Sure...

Data from event causality is obtained by the system capturing data from the global datasphere where it is then cataloged through Edain’s C+8 data model. Every piece of information is tagged by the system such that when queries are made to the system, the system can search everything that (cor)relates to it - but using causality as the identifier. So all data captured that references, for example, superman, red cape, and/or kryptonite are tagged, given an IPV6 number for recall, and made available for matching when a user enters a query that includes any of the captured data with any of those references. Some will think of a search engine, but C+8 is quite different in how it ‘matches’ data through its analytics process. Consider that C+8 is designed to function exactly as the human brain does. We don't just regurgitate things, we use reason and logic to arrive at conclusions. Such is the case with C+8 as it employs the same process to arrive at logic.

Although there is much more going on inside the black box, this is the general approach to data management and analysis within the system. Understanding that the analysis is not done beforehand, but at the moment a query is submitted. Understanding the scale of data in the global datasphere, one can begin to understand the herculean computational effort involved to achieve this. Hence the reason we have developed a partnership with Dell Technologies as they do things we cannot do in our effort to deliver knowledge as a utility to everyone with an internet connection...

[May]
Nice!

[Chris Edwards]
😉

[May]
Love how the platform works and the solutions it'll provide

Also impressed that you're in partnership with Dell!

[Chris Edwards]
A wonderful organization with really dedicated people

[May]
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

What are the utilities of $EAI?

[Chris Edwards]
Sure. Simply put, EAI is the internal medium of exchange used to transact queries within the Edain knowledge ecosystem. Queries to the system use EAI and that transactional utility. Works just like other ‘currencies’ for the same purpose, except that EAI is exclusive for transacting queries to the Knowledge Vault.

[May]
What major news should we still look forward to from Edain by the end of the year?

[Chris Edwards]
Yeah, ok...

Much of the ‘news’ about upcoming stuff will happen closer to the end of the presale period, but it can be expected that there will be some naming of additional strategic partners that will be significant and that will serve to add credibility to Edain and the Knowledge Vault’s evolution before that.

As we’re already at the end of the first week of December, and Christmas is therefore upon us soon, I would suggest looking for some breaking news soon after the new year (2022).

Much of our efforts in the first 9 weeks or so of 'going live' have been to begin building and engaging a community around Edain. We have a story that needs telling and we're doing it right now, for example. Connecting with the Decentralized Club community is one extension of this effort. While in the background, we're working on scaling and the development of new knowledge applications that will be made available to the market at the end of the presale period. Given that we're nine weeks new, we're happy with where we're at as we're spending a lot of effort and resources to 'talk to the world'.

[May]
That's great!

Let's now take some questions from our Twitter community.

Ready?

[Chris Edwards]
sure

Segment 2 - Twitter Questions
[May]
Edain uses C + 8 technology, a proprietary data import, and a transformation engine. How do you ensure that this data engine creates a reliable, unbiased, and accurate representation of the world in its given state?

Twitter Username: @y1sus_afp

[Chris Edwards]
So, you might note that most of the decision support systems (DSS) products available in the global marketplace are B2B oriented. Others focus on B2G. Very few are B2C targeted. But the point is that there is considerable fragmentation. I think if any other developer could develop a "one size fits all" solution, they would do so. The same as if you could build a car that served the needs of every driver - what car maker wouldn't do that?

What we have achieved is that ability. The ability to provide a universal knowledge oracle that is easy to access, very low cost, and easy to use.

The knowledge output is unbiased in the C+8 analytics process. We do this as there is zero human involvement in this process.

The sources we capture data from vary in degree of accuracy - meaning scientific credibility. As we know, today's world is flush with 'fake' news - misleading information is everywhere. Part of Edain's process involves scoring sources for known credibility, but also allowing the user to determine how - and if - they want those sources, or the others known to be publishing misleading information - included in the analysis they receive.

[May]
This part is really impressive!

Given the nature of your project which involves big data and AI technology, do you have plans on partnering on some of the big and popular crypto-AI projects just like SingularityNET and Ocean Protocol? Can you discuss more about your partnerships in terms of AI integrations?

Twitter Username: @0JeanWayne

[Chris Edwards]
Hi Jean. Any relation to John, by chance?

[May]
It's possible 😄

[Chris Edwards]
At present, we have no formal partnerships with other AI developers beyond other experts that weigh in on matters where we request input or knowledge sharing. It will certainly become the case that we work together with other AI developers as there are incredible economies of scale that we can realize where we share knowledge. This is, frankly, the entire premise of Edain. Wherever we can help others learn and become more educated and better positioned to solve problems through knowledge, we will do those things.

[May]
How does the Social Circumplex work and how does it become an integral part of Edain?

Twitter Username: @cradled_in_

[Chris Edwards]
Sure, the social circumplex is a wonderful analytics tool. Through the same C+8 data model, the social circumplex measures human sentiment against any subject as queried to the Knowledge Vault. As we well know, almost everything that happens in our human-guided world is the result of sentiment. The sentiment is the most powerful energy on earth and it is what wins elections, moves stock prices up and down, starts and ends wars, and so on...

The SC tool allows a user the ability to see how people feel about a given subject at any given point in time.

Wanna know how people felt about Putin's last speech? This is a tool that can be called upon to understand this.\

[May]
Great!

Let's now take some questions from our website community.

[Chris Edwards]
great

Segment 3 - Website Questions

[May]
There is already a lot of knowledge on the internet on different platforms for us to consume. How does Edain do it better than the currently available sources?

Telegram Username: @danWickerjil

[Chris Edwards]
We do?

☺️

Yeah, I kinda touched on this above. But we have a generalized system that has no bounds. This is the simplest way to describe how Edain is differentiated at a macro level.

But key features are this n-dimensionality, low cost, ease of access and use, and a single source of all the world's available knowledge.

Kinda like a single store with everything you could ever need under one small roof and where everything is very inexpensive.

[May]
Could you tell us what QSearch is and what are the main benefits that this tool provides to your users? What role does this tool play in your platform?
Thank you!

Telegram Username: @shitosan

[Chris Edwards]
What is Qsearch?
(just kidding)

[May]
https://t.me/decentralized_club/668410

[Chris Edwards]
So Qsearch is an incredible research tool, @ASMRo3, Shitosan

It provides a visual rendering of everything that is related to any subject matter posed to the Knowledge Vault. So, using the Superman example from before, using the Qsearch tool allows you to see everything that has been affected by or from Superman with any degree of specificity the user chooses.

Imagine that you're a researcher that wants to know how vitamin D impacts cancer patients. Qsearch will give you immediate knowledge about everything known about vitamin D and cancer allowing you to focus on where you might look for solutions relating to your research. It can drastically reduce the time required to know what and where to look for information.

One thing people often wonder/ask is what benefit the Knowledge Vault can really provide - and it's a reasonable question.

So...consider that global GDP is around $85 trillion and most countries spend about 1.5% (average) on official research, meaning we humans spend about $1.25 trillion on research every year. We can safely assume that there are 3 - 4 times that figure spent when we consider how many administrative assistants, secretaries, and each of us individually one our own time spends to make decisions through the accumulation of knowledge via research - of everything from what toothpaste to buy, to where we put our kids in school, to what new building materials will best help create energy efficiencies. Imagine what could be saved - and how much faster we would evolve - if we could shrink our research time and cost by 10%. Or 25%. Or 75%.

This is Edain.

[May]
Awesome!

Can you please discuss with us more thoroughly your “Prisma Indicators” and “Company Analyzer” products in terms of integrating them with financials and businesses? How can companies and investors use these tools in their jobs?

Telegram Username: @Jmagsss

[Chris Edwards]
Sure...

These two tools effectively show how things are impacted by sentiment. As referenced in the previous answer, every company's stock price is almost entirely predicated by how people feel about the stock/company. Company A launches a new product and people buy it aggressively. It is assumed that the product is delivering value to the market and people buy the stock. That same company's CEO is implicated in a scandal (whether true or not), it is presumed he/she is bad and people begin selling the stock out of fear that the company is poorly led.

These tools are also visual representations that show how the stock was impacted by news (fake, real, or otherwise) and how it is likely to be impacted at some point in time downstream.

[May]
Awesome!

It's time to take questions from our live audience

[Chris Edwards]
ok

sure

[May]
What's your favorite emoji?

[Chris Edwards]
🙈

[May]
Dear community, please use Mr. Chris' favorite emoji in your questions.

The group will be unmuted shortly.

---Chat was then opened for the live community to send in their questions---

Segment 4 - Live Questions

[May]
Kindly prioritize the questions with your favorite emoji 🙈

[Topind
🙈 What is the purpose for which the C+8 Knowledge Vault is designed?

[Chris Edwards]
The purpose of the Knowledge Vault is to make knowledge equally and equitably available to every desiring hum and to make it simple to access. The idea is that we enlist the entire human collective intelligence in the decision-making process we involve ourselves in every single day. If everyone had access to the best available knowledge, we would be a considerably more efficient species and our communities would be considerably more sustainable.

[May]
Three more questions to go! 🥳

[Dhir]
You talked about delivering knowledge to every human. Will this come at a price or will it be absolutely free? 🙈

[Chris Edwards]
Good question Dhir. The knowledge vault, like everything else, must be made to be sustainable. Powering and maintaining the knowledge vault has a real-money cost that must be serviced. Having said that, like most anything that can be scaled and delivered to the masses, usually operate on a micropayments scheme. Much of the data into the system will be provided under a pay-for-use scheme, as well. Edain will do the same but understand too, that the Knowledge Vault will function as an IGO and as a not-for-profit entity - meaning that it's not incentivized to make profits. It is designed from the beginning that the Knowledge Vault should be owned by every human being. Knowledge should not be an asset available with some exclusivity to the wealthy.

[Taiwo Bisayo]
🙈 What are the features that you feel the c+8 app lacks for now and how have you been working to improve it?

[Chris Edwards]
Scaling is a feature that is perhaps the most challenging. Understand that Edain will scale over time and it will take time. Its evolutionary course will not likely be so different from what we have seen with search engine development as they all remain under continual improvement with the development of new algorithms, etc. as demand requires and tech allows.

[May]
One more question to go! 🥳

[DC Member]
Do you agree that the power of community will lead your project to grow globally? What services do you provide to the community?🙈🙈🙈

[Chris Edwards]
Community - whether Edian's or each of our own where we live - is everything. Without community - there is no future. So we spend a lot of effort communicating with our community (as the past two hours might suggest); - ).

We have been asked many times about what features, support, involvement we'll offer the Edain community and I would say that this is and will always remain an open discussion. Things like voting and administrative accessibility are common and we're listening to everyone that contributes their views.

[May]
Can you pick one more question? 😄

[Chris Edwards]
suer

[Feray Furnense]
What's your plan to make it possible for users to vote on charity projects?
What does CryptoData do?
🙈

[Chris Edwards]
Hi Feray, yeah, as just commented, voting on things is something I am sure will be adopted as part of the community engagement and support strategy. If it is to be 'owned by the people' then those of us that are its stakeholders need to have input and that input must be heard. CryptoData are experts in the secure transmission and storage of data - as their name suggests. They are not in the cryptocurrency business, nor is Prisma Analytics. CryptoDATA are experts in the development of blockchain tech and have quite a myriad of skills beyond. Those of you that have purchased EAI with BASM hardware will have realized their skill in developing world-class hardware products too.

[May]
Aaaaaaand it's a wrap! 🥳

Mr. Chris, you've been an outstanding guest!

[Chris Edwards]
Thanks so much for everyone's participation tonight

[May]
Any final remarks for our community?

[Chris Edwards]
