AMA with Tradetomato

On the 25th of February, 2022 at 13:00 UTC, Decentralized Club had the honor of hosting Daely and Mati from Tradetomato for an Ask-Me-Anything session on their Telegram page with a community of over 70,000 people. It was hosted by DC Admin, May.

The session was divided into three segments. Introductions were made in Segment 1, questions from the Twitter community were answered in Segment 2, and live questions from the community members in attendance were answered in Segment 3.

For starters, can you please tell us about yourselves and your roles at Tradetomato?

Well, I'm Daely, I'm the community manager for Tradetomato and I assist Mati in his day-to-day marketing activities.

We're all avid traders at Tradetomato and during one of our brainstorming sessions in the early days someone suggested the name and it just stuck 😄

Can you briefly tell our community what Tradetomato is about? We would like to know more about it and the inspiration that birthed the project.

[Mati]
Tradetomato is a blockchain-native trade automation and portfolio management platform. It doesn’t matter if you are just starting out with crypto trading or are equipped with years worth of experience, we have the right tools for you!

[Daely]
Our founder is a seasoned trader who started trading stocks and forex and later moved into crypto through his mining-obsessed friend. Over the years, he became increasingly frustrated with the lack of trading tools and solutions in the crypto space and decided to build his own. At the time, automated trading had gained a bad reputation due to the over-saturation of trading bots promising unrealistic returns and not offering any tools for risk management.

A couple of years down the line, the idea was born to create an ecosystem where anyone can automate their trading and risk management and create a social marketplace where users can benefit from one another.

What are the innovative solutions that distinguish Tradetomato from other similar trading projects and what competitive advantages do you have?

One thing that distinguishes us from our competitors is our focus on DeFi. Our competitors mainly offer automated trading on centralized exchanges, while we plan to support both CEXs and DEXs.

Unlike many existing tools in the market, our algorithm builder is quite remarkable. It will allow users to link together modules (units that carry out specific functions) to create an intricate step-based trading system. Users will be able to automate trading and create automated flows between their exchanges, wallets, and marketplaces.

What are the KYC requirements for users on your platform?

[Mati]
Right now, we do not have any strict KYC requirements as we’re in our alpha phase. Users can sign up for our platform and try it out for free.

Please keep in mind, these requirements are subject to change as we move into beta and later launch the full version of the product. We will update our community regarding any of these changes.

How do we acquire your native project token and why is it important to hold it from an investment point of view?

[Mati]
The Tradetomato token is an essential part of our ecosystem, it will be the primary means of transferring value within the ecosystem.

Holders will be able to stake the token or use it to access the platform and exclusive features. It will also play an integral part in our Marketplace as we plan to incorporate a soft-burn mechanism where a certain percentage of marketplace transactions will be transferred back into the ecosystem.

What are the 2021 highlights from Tradetomato and what should we look forward to this year?

2021 was a very exciting year for us at Tradetomato. We launched our alpha and kickstarted our private sale round with a very successful crowdfunding event on Decubate. Our team has also doubled in size, and development is well on its way!

The highlight for the coming year will be our move from alpha to beta, which will involve the launch of our native token and the introduction of live trading on our platform. Later on, in the year we plan to launch our marketplace, which will be a monumental release, as we prepare to partner up with signal providers and expert traders who will be our first content creators on the marketplace. It will be a massive step for us, as it will kick start a whole community of content creators on our platform.

I would have to say that the algorithm builder is our flagship feature. It will allow you to link together modules/actions, to create intricate step-based trading systems.

The other would be our marketplace that will include a library of ready-to-go algorithms and trading tools created by our team and the community.

With Tradetomato, users can share their trading algorithm in the platform for other users to use and benefit from. Are there necessary requirements for the users to post and publish their algorithms? Also, will the creators be incentivized for doing so?

To publish algorithms, you will need to become a verified content creator on Tradetomato. To become verified, you will have to show a positive track record for your algorithms and get approved by the Tradetomato team.

As for the incentive model, that will be revealed once we release the marketplace.

On your website, I saw something about alpha testers and the benefits attached to them. How do I become an alpha tester? What are the requirements needed?

That's correct, we are running the alpha version of our platform right now. You can sign up for the waiting list on our website. We send out new invites every Friday. It might take some time before you get your invite, though, as we have quite a significant amount of users already subscribed and waiting for their turn. I would say that it's worth the wait 😄

By signing up, you will have the potential to become an alpha tester, getting access to the early version of the platform. Our alpha users can already create algorithms that paper trade on Binance, allowing them to test their strategies without risking any funds.

All our features have been fully geared towards helping anyone, regardless of experience, create algorithms and get started with automated trading.

Development is going great! As I mentioned earlier, our alpha is well underway. You can check it out for yourself by becoming a tester and trying the platform.

We’ve recently released a major update to our algorithm builder, which has received a lot of positive feedback so far. Additionally, users can access a completely customizable dashboard (including drag and drop widgets).

You mentioned in your doc that holders of TTM will gain access to the platform and its features. But my question is will it be according to a tier-based system?

For newcomers, we are making automated trading simple by giving them access to ready-to-use algorithms, while also allowing them to follow and copy other traders through our marketplace.

For more advanced crypto users, we offer a variety of advanced trading tools with a high degree of customization, allowing users to create multi-step trading flows.

Hey Cosmo,

Yes, we've made it very simple for anyone to create algorithms so you don't need coding knowledge to get started, some trading knowledge would be good though 😄.

If that sounds like a lot of work we will also have ready-made algorithms, or browse the marketplace for algorithms and tools that suit you best.

We love NFTs at Tradetomato!

We plan to create our own NFTs at some point and use them as a reward mechanism for the various community events and trading competitions.

In the future, we also plan to integrate interactions with NFT marketplaces into the algorithm builder and other elements of the platform.

E.g We will allow users to track their collectibles on the platform as a part of their portfolio. More information on this topic will be released in our docs 😄
