Dear, Community,

Welcome to the recap of our AMA with Arianee.
Our vibrant and enthusiastic community had a lot of questions to ask. To those who want to know quickly what Arianee is about, we are sure this recap is gonna help you. So without further ado, continue reading 😉

✔️Introduction with Arianee :👉

BILLY:
Q1. Can you provide a brief introduction to Arianee + the core team behind it?

Luc:
Of course. Arianee is the standard for product digital identity. We bring physical products in the digital realm and enable new features such as 1 click insurance, instant resale, digital closet and anonymous clienteling, all in a P2P uncensorable way thanks to blockchain.
The founders are repeat entrepreneurs with several exits (Teads, Vestiaire Collective) and experience both in the tech industry and Luxury/fashion industry. You can look us up here: https://www.arianee.org/governance

BILLY:
Great !

Q2. Why do you think Arianee is to become the standard for blockchain based verification?

Luc:
Because we are the protocol with the best traction!
We managed to gather a consortium with some of the best brands in the luxury and fashion industry who are already either using the protocol or participating in its development and governance (full list here: https://www.arianee.org/members). This is something that is too often overlooked. Decentralized protocols tend to focus on building the tech first, get a lot of PR and then try to find real usage. We started with building real value (and the tech) for a large industry and getting some of its largest actors to use the solution.

BILLY:
I agree completely!

Building real value first makes more sense

Q3. Can you talk a bit about your partners and how they are utilizing your services?

Luc:
They are all either testing, building on helping to develop the protocol. Several brands including Breilting and Vacheron Constantin but also more up and coming brands such as RSVP or Satoshi Studio are already live on the protocol delivering Arianee certificates to their customers.

The main first step which launched over the next few weeks is: putting certificates in teh hands of customers. We are then gradually releasing new features such as resale (with Ba&Sh) to provide more and more value to the product owners.

We also work with some integrators such as Dentsu and Evrythng who are deploying the portocol to their customer base. And we are always looking for developpers who want to tinker with the protocol and provide more value to product owners.

BILLY:
We can safely say Arianee is already being accepted with open arms by other brands !

Q4. What is further planned for Arianee in 2021 ?

Luc:
Plenty!
We have several brands launching on Arianee including a major player which will be announced end of Q2.
We will release some new services to enhance the experience of product owners including a partnership with a major resale platform another one with an insurance company and a global lost and found solution
We will also have some cool features specifically for token holders, I can’t say too much but think something at the intersection of NFT, physical products and DeFi.

BILLY:
2021 is packed up!

Thanks for the detailed introduction to Arianee for us

The ETH blockchain is very slow, high fees. So why did you build #arianee Use the Etheriam blockchain? Do you have plans to launch your own mainnet or change your mainet to Bsc , tron ?

Luc:
Twitter question no 1. from @DamithDilshan17

Ethereum is indeed somewhat slow and expensive. It is however the chain with the best ecosystem and it is the most decentralized. Builiding the whole protocol on Ethereum would not be viable so part of the protocol is built on Ethereum and part the protocol is built on a side-chain called POAnetwork.

We have bridges to go from one chain to the other. The ERC20 bridge is live and was built with the same team who developed the xDAI bridge and the ERC721 bridge is under development.

We are considering deploying our own chain but it something that need to be carefully considered as building your own chain can also reduce the decentralization.

In how many ways or what are the ways your project generate revenue? What is the revenue model? How it can be beneficial for both investors and for project itself?

Luc:
Twitter question no 2. from @ryuuuubtc12

At this moment there are three paid features on the protocol which can onl ybe paid in aria20:
✔️ Generating the identity
✔️ Adding an event to the product. Events could be servicing your product or certifying that this product was at certain event like the super bowl or a music festival
✔️Sending a message to the product and by ricochet to the current product owner.

The fees are then redistributed to different players in the ecosystem to incentivize them to build new features. 40% goes back to the non-profit managing the governance of the protocol to finance new development. At some point we will allocate a percentage of this pool for the community to decide what to do with.

We also have a staking system for brands which they have to participate in when they wish to claim their identity. It makes sure they have skin in the game and It reduces circulation.

There are always some interesting stories behind every successful project, Can you share one of these interesting stories with us which motivated for you to start Arianee?

Luc:
Twitter question no 3 from @nibi_bts

I was not really big on luxury and fashion before joining Arianee 🙂 It was just the best application for blockchain (which I was really intersted in)
Before Arianee, I founded a renewable energy marketplace in Switzerland back in 2014. An important part of this solution was electricity traceability. In early 2016, I started receiving calls asking me if my platform used blockchain? It was not, however at that time blockchain for energy traceability was all the rage. In 2015 when Ethereum was introduced, it piqued my interest but it took these phone calls back in 2016 for me to fall down the rabbit hole. Eighteen months later I was co-founding Arianee, and the rest is history 🙂

These last few days I have monitored $ARIA20 and it has a considerable increase, do you think that is due?what makes it so good every day?

Luc:
Twitter question no 4 from @Victoria20kBTC

As a matter of rule, I do not talk about the price of the aria20. What I am interested is usage, what value we are bringing to the table. This being said the success of the project and of the aria20 are linked so the latest announcements and visibility surely have somthing to do with it :).

How can we trust our funds with Arianee ecosystem? What security measures being implemented in your network? Is your smart contract audited already? Thank you

Luc:
Twitter question no 5 from @R7Clover

Our smart contracts have been audited by Clement Lesage (co-founder of Kleros) and by Blockchain Partners. The brands using the protocol have also performed external audits. We are not privvy to the results but since they joined and started using the portocol, I guess that means we passed these audits with flying colors as well 😉

BILLY:
Thanks for the detailed answers to each question Luca

Hecca:
2020 covid-19 happened all over the world does it affect your project and development, will your team have a new direction for 2021 while covid-19 is still there.

Luc:
Great question!
The luxury brands we work with were pretty badly hit at the beggining of 2020 and we had several projects put on hold due to uncertainty.
However a couple of months into the crisis, Brands eralized that the way out of this was to go even deeper into digital experience since in-store experience was not possible anymore.

COVID ended up being an amazing accelerator for us and most of the projects which were pout on hild were finally relaunched with more ambitious timelines.

Fantastic questions everyone!! We’re making sure that we answer with as much detail as possible. Thanks for bearing with us. And also, wow, it’s nice to see so many people interested!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Chris Luna:
Currenntly there are so many scam project. Almost 89% of Defi project out there are ready to rug even with the public team. At this point why you decided to remain anonymous? How can we (Investors) trust your project?

Luc:
Me and all the founders are public, you can find us on arianee.org.

We also have several brands who have put there reputation on the line communicating that they are working with us and they made sure we were legitimate.

So we are definitely not in it to rug pull anybody.

Ruthe Shanahan:
I’m interested in contributing to Arianee , Do you have any Global Ambassador Program, if yes, how do I apply ?

Luc:
Awesome! We are always looking for passionate people to spread the word about Arianee. Feel free reach out to @p_kalachev if you feel you can contribute to our team. SERIOUS inquiries only please. 🙂

Femi Oyinloye:
Is your tokens listed on any major exchange?

Luc:
We have had some interest from centralized exchanges and will persue listing over the next few months. At the moment we like DEXs and you can find us here: https://app.uniswap.org/#/swap?outputCurrency=0xeDF6568618A00C6F0908Bf7758A16F76B6E04aF9

Tuấn Kun:
Partnership are plays a crucial role behind success of every project. Can you share us with the recent partnership of #ARIA20 ecosystem? Also what are the benefits that we can expect from this partnership?

Luc:
Patnerships are indeed important but too many times partnerships are just PR releases with nothing behind it.
You know what is even better? Companies actually using your protocol 🙂
This what we have with Breilting Ba&Sh, Vacheron Constantin, but also Dentsu Tracking which integrated Arianee in Breilting’s IT systems with us, Evrythng which integrated our portocol in their platform and many others!

Last Question is for Pasha!

Jinjha:
You made this AMA receiving very interesting questions about your technology, what is the feedback you want to receive from us as a community?

Pasha Kalachev:
Thank you! This is a very diverse community from all different parts of the world. What we would like to know is, where you think the Arianee verification protocol would bring value to your life? Which brands do you think should use the protocol? We’re constantly looking to make new introductions!

Website question no 1.
From : Jess Sam

How safe is the security of this digital identity and what measure is taken so that its duplication/ imitation is blocked

Luc:
Website question no 1.
From : Jess Sam

The digital identity itself is a Non-Fungible Token using the ERC-721 standard so it is as secure as all other ERC-721.
Now if what you mean is how to ensure that the same product does not get 2 digital identities or that a fake product can receive a digital identity, the answer is simple: only brands can issue certificates for their products.
It is a strong choice that we made at beginning of Arianee. Projects like Codex Protocol for instance, had made a different choice: anybody could create a digital identity for any product and the logic was that the market would decide which certificate is real and which one is not.
We did not think this was a good choice because it adds plenty of confusion and risk for unsuspecting users.

Now, while only Breitling can issue a certificate for its Breilting, once the product owner receives the product identity, nobody can take it away. While digital certificates existed in the past, they were always controlled by whoever controlled the database. We use blockchain to ensure that once you own the product digital identity, nobody can take it away from you, just like you would with a paper based certificate.

What is the biggest challenge faced by Arianee when approaching for partnerships ?

Luc:
Website question no 2.
From : Daniel

Lead time! Convincing brands to move to our solution takes a lot of time. Luxury and fashion brands plan on a very long-time horizon (sometimes decades!).
That being said, after more than three years of development, lead time for signing brands is dropping drastically, they start seeing us as an obvious choice that they will have to implement in the near future in order to stay on par with the competition. Some brands are even considering generating digital identities for their products now even though they do not plan on releasing the feature to the public. they just want to have the digital identities already generated fro when their customers demand them.

For regular token holders , how does buying and holding Aria token is beneficial?

Luc:
Website question no 3.
From : Sonakhshi Sonal

It really depends on which kind of “regular “token holder you are If you are a developer or a creator, you will need some tokens to interact with the core features of the protocol.
If you are a product owner or interested in fashion or luxury, we are working on some pretty cool ways for you to use the tokens to interact in an exclusive way with some of your favourite brands. Stay tuned as we will announce some of these features in Q2.

I want to have a LONG TERM INVESTMENT with this PROJECT, but I’m in doubts right now, how can “Arianee” convince and assure me this project is SAFE and PROFITABLE?

Luc:
Website question no 4
From : Shashi Rana

We started this project three and half year ago, the founders are public and are repeat entrepreneurs with some major exits (Teads, Vestiaire Collective). We have worked tirelessly to do something no other similar project managed to do: get major brands such as Breitling, Richemont group or Audemars Piguet (full list here: https://www.arianee.org/members) to join the project. Breitling and Vacheron Constantin (part of Richemont) have already launched full scale and we have several more brands who will announce public during the year.

TL;DR: We have a track record and we have 🔥 traction on actual usage.

Regarding data privacy, how is Arianee approaching that ?

Luc:
Website question no 5
From : Dengra alex

Very Appropriate question for Data Privacy Day!

Data Privacy is a core concern of ours and my co-founder Frederic just published an op-ed and a white paper on the subject: https://twitter.com/fred_montagnon/status/1354716451861573632?s=20. We believe that owners should own their data and decide how and when they decide to share their data. One of the key features of the protocol is the ability for brands to interact with product owners without collecting their personal information, in other words without knowing who they are. Now the product owner could decide at some point to reveal some of its personal information to the brand, but only if they decide to.

From : Prithvi sehgal

What are Arianee uniqueness among various blockchains and cryptocurrency projects.
WHAT are the main features that override Arianee?

Luc:
Website question no 6
From : Prithvi sehgal

We are one of the rare projects that brings tangible utility right now to a massive market. We will be adding more and more brands over the next months and year, our growth is only at its beginning.

The digital product identity is like a passport for your product. It has three core on chain features which are paid in ARIA20 by brands and other actors interacting with the product:
✔️Generating the identity
✔️Adding an event to the product.
✔️Sending a message to the product and by ricochet to the current product owner.

BILLY:
Website question no 7.
From : Masarya

What’s so special about #Arianee project and what are #Arianee features can you explain to us, thanks

Luc:
Website question no 7
From : Masarya

We are governed by a non-profit (Arianee Project) of which both the co-founders and the actors of the ecosystem (brands, creators, service providers, developers) are voting members.

This ensures that the rules of the protocol will always be negotiated between members and not dictated by investors. It is one of the key arguments to which brands are sensitive. They all feel that they are captive of the GAFAMs (Google, facebook, etc) and do not want to fall into the same trap in the future.

BILLY:
Website question no 8.
From : Suresh Jindal

Among so many YFI, YFII, YFFI and many more. Why do you think Aria20 will stand out from the rest? Is it profitable to invest in this platform?

Luc:
Website question no 8
From : Suresh Jindal

Usage! Our token is already being used by brands on a daily basis in order to use the protocol. We also have tokenomics that enable incentives that will reduce velocity. You can take a look at the tokenomics on https://aria.fyi

BILLY:
Website question no 9.
From : Josh

After conception of this idea, have you ever thought of abandoning this project? Considering the fact that they are other competitors in your space?

Luc:
Website question no 9
From : Josh

Many times! It is difficult to bring such an ambitious project to fruition. This being said, competition is not really what made me doubt at the time. We do something that none of our other competitors manage to do: convince top brands to join the project. Finding the tech and governance equilibrium as well as the applications that convinces these brands to join the protocol is not easy but the experience and talent of our team enabled us to find that perfect recipe.

BILLY:
Website question no 10.
From : Johnson

Why are you only partnering with luxury brands?

Luc:
Website question no 10
From : Johnson

The luxury industry is our go-to-market but we do not plan to stop here! Luxury products and watches in particular already have paper based certificates of authenticity so the habit is already there, we just digitize it. Moreover all the services that the Arianee digital identity enhances such as resale or insurance are already widespread in the industry.

Now we are already starting to venture in other industries such as cosmetics, wine and spirits and mobility (cars, bikes and even strollers 😉 ).
